Lovely spot for an afternoon bev. Alexander at the bar was just great to banter with.
I went for brunch and got the Bijan burger. It was good, but when I go back I'd probably order something else I like the vibe of the place, but I thought it was weird that it was a predominantly cash business during brunch service. I don't know if they had an issue with their POS the day I went or if that's how it always is. In any event it's good to keep in mind if you're planning to go. If you do go and need cash, they have an ATM in the back.
Tasty Persian-inspired food in an intimate setting. I ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Flatbread ($24), which was a pretty large size. At first, I thought it was a bit salty because of the BBQ sauce, but then got used to it after a few bites. The flatbread was actually quite delicious with a good amount of melted cheese, soft bread, and flavorful pulled pork on top. I also tried the Rosemary Lime Sumac Chicken ($28). The chicken was very flavorful with lots of herbs on top and pretty tender. It also came with nicely cooked mashed potatoes and green beans. While the price is a bit high, this was justified by the portion size and quality. The interior of the restaurant has dim lighting and a candle on each table, making it ideal for a date or more intimate meal. The decor (including a real wood fireplace) makes it feel very cozy and homey (plus quite warm in the wintertime). My main issue with Bijan's is just the service speed, as it took the food a very long time to come out. Other than that though, the service was good, as the staff are friendly and attentive. Overall, apart from the slow service, I thought the food was delicious and the environment was nice enough to earn Bijan's a solid 4 stars - would definitely recommend if you are interested in Persian-inspired food in Brooklyn.
We are in for an overnight and stopped into Bijan's for brunch. The omelet was one of the best I have ever had. The cocktail was excellent with cayenne pepper topping it off. Most importantly the service and ambiance were great. As Joe Bob the Drive-in Movie Critic use to say, "Check it out." You will not be disappointed.
Sooooo good!!!! And Alexander, the bartender, is incredibly charismatic! Come here. Often!
We had a late Thursday morning marriage ceremony at Brooklyn Borough Hall and stumbled on Bijan's when looking for a place that would be open for celebratory drinks. Great daytime low-key vibe. Friendly guy hosting and manning the bar. Comfy natural wood/brick/abundant hanging plants environs. Tons of natural light was a bonus. From the cocktail menu, we're now big fans of the Flower Bomb, Lavender Bijan and the Gimme More (a 3X winner for Spouse A). For bites, the koshkhobaden and crack soup were table faves (Thanks Chef Julian!).
Food was really yummy. My date and I shared a big bowl of soup. We got chicken noodle and it was good. Next time I would try the rice instead of noodles. He also got the lamb stew which he loved. It came with rice AND fries. We got a cheesecake which was just ok. Service was fine. Ambiance was warm and cozy. This restaurant is open very late which is awesome.
Dinner at Bijan was definitely a treat from our friendly server Jeanette to the owner. We sat in the street had delicious food and drinks. I'm really enjoying the ambience. I can't wait to come back.
Perfect neighborhood dining experience. The sumac chicken is delicious, so is the crack soup and beet salad. The ambiance is wonderful, with the artwork and log fire, and the staff. We had a great time! Thanks Bijans, see you again soon :)
This is the cutest place that expands beyond the initial eye. I ordered online and was shocked at the wait time, the store called me as I was calling them 'I hit the wrong button, we will be ready in 15-20 minutes' perfect! I don't have a pic of the 'crack soup' but I assure you it is delicious. Puts you in mind of a more veggie chicken soup with amazing flavors. I paused at the cost, but it was delicious. The peri peri wings were cooked crispy and good! They would probably be better fresh out the fryer. Make sure to ask well done/ fried hard. The basil shrimp was so friggin good! You wouldn't think of that combo but it works. Good sized shrimp too. The place has a late HH that I will absolutely try when I'm back up there. I like fresh foods, meat with heavy veggie notes and polite service. All equal the 5 stars they get. Go here and I will return for sure! Correction, TWO HAPPY HOURS. 4-7p and 11-close. Get it!
